Background

Samuel Yaw Agyemang-Badu (Sanitarian) is an Environmental Health Officer by Profession, registered and licensed by Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), a Public Health Engineer (Trainee Professional Engineer -TPE) by the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), a member of Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), United Kingdom, a Senior Health Tutor (Environmental Health) and the Head, Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit of the College since its inception in November, 2015. He teaches Environmental Health, Medical Entomology and Health Sociology courses and ensures effective and efficient waste management and pest and vector control at the College. He has both local and international working experience over the past ten (10) years.


Until his appointment as a Health Tutor (Environmental Health) in 2015, he was the Eastern Regional Project Coordinator/ Focal Person of the Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS), a UNICEF Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) project  and an

  3. Climate Adaptation Summit (CAS) 2021. An Online Global Conference to Accelerate, Innovate and Scale up the World’s Efforts in Adapting to the Inevitable Effects of Climate Change, Netherlands Government and Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) from 25th-26th January, 2021.
  4. Samuel has won several Travel Grants and Scholarship Awards both locally and internationally. Some of them are;

Awardee, Hedgerow Bursary Travel Grant (£1200) to attend 16th World Congress on Environmental Health 2022 (WCEH2022) organized by the International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH) and Malaysian Association of Environmental Health (MAEH) at World Trade Centre (WTC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 21st -25th August, 2022.

Awardee, Tuition Scholarship (€600), CIHLMU Center for International Health, Ludwig Maximilian University-Munich, Germany to participate he Advanced Module course on Vector Biology and Control in Ghana, and Department of Conservation Biology and Entomology, University of Cape Coast (UCC), 20th -28th June, 2022.
